WINNIPEG — Three people evacuated safely out of a burning home in the 200 block of Bowman Avenue late Monday night after a fire in the attic.

Winnipeg firefighters responded just after 11:30 a.m. and fought the fire defensively due to the conditions. Flames were under control by around 1 a.m.

Officials say two adults and a child self-evacuated and were assessed for smoke inhalation, but didn’t require medical attention.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available.
