GILBERT PLAINS, Man. — The RCMP has arrested two people who were being sought in a fatal stabbing in western Manitoba.

Police say charges have not been laid against the 39-year-old man and 25-year-old woman.

Details surrounding the arrests have not been released.

Officers were called Saturday evening to a home in Gilbert Plains, where they found a 36-year-old man who had been stabbed.

Paramedics treated him at the scene, but he was later pronounced dead.

Mounties had said the suspects were believed to be travelling together and were trying to steal vehicles to flee from the area.
