It’s back and according to coordinator Cory O’Grodnik, it will be bigger and more fun than ever before.
The Manitoba Night Market and Festival is set and ready to return to Assiniboia Downs for the third year. The first Manitoba Night Market of 2019 kicks off Sunday, June 9 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
“Thanks to your overwhelming support of the people of Manitoba, we are now offering two additional events,” O’Grodnik told ChrisD.ca. “The second one will take place on Sunday, August 11 and the third one on Saturday, September 14.
“This year we have more than 20 food trucks, which gives you so many different options. It’s like experiencing food from all over the world.”
As there were in past years, there will also be Winnipeg artisans, hand making unique products for everyone to purchase.
Admission is $5 and kids under five are admitted free. Parking is $5.
O’Grodnik also said there would be a Manitoba Night Market and Festival “teaser” at the Downs annual Ladies Night on Saturday, June 1.
“Not only can you get all your friends together for a fabulous night with a chance to win more than $1,000 in prizes, the Manitoba Night Market and Festival vendors will be on hand to sell items specifically geared towards our female guests,” said O’Grodnik. “There will be food and drink specials, live thoroughbred racing and special draws. Racing starts at 7:15 p.m.
“And don’t forget to dress up for this exciting evening of racing by wearing your most fashionable hat.”
On June 1, Crazy Hour will start right after the last race. That means $2.95 drinks for everyone.
And don’t forget, live racing starts this Sunday afternoon, Mother’s Day, at the Downs. The annual Opening Day Mother’s Day Brunch is sold out, but there are still some tables remaining for the Mother’s Day dinner buffet. Live racing starts at 1:15 p.m. and the dinner buffet begins at 5:30 pm. Call (204) 885-3330 to make reservations.
