Human remains found in a wooded area in the RM of Cornwallis last month have been identified as those of a missing Brandon man.

Jason Riley, 46, was reported missing to Brandon police on May 8, 2019.

A hunter came across the remains near Highway 1A on October 26 and contacted police. Investigators discovered additional human bones nearby with the help of a police dog.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Blue Hills RCMP continue to investigate.
