Man Killed in Snowmobile Crash Near Elphinstone

A 20-year-old man from the RM of Yellowhead has died following a snowmobile crash near Elphinstone, Manitoba.

RCMP say two snowmobiles were travelling alongside each other on February 20 when they went over a steep embankment and hit the ground, causing significant injuries to both riders.

The accident happened at around 7:15 p.m. on the side of Highway 45 near Road 126 W, west of Elphinstone, approximately 275 kilometres west of Winnipeg.

A 44-year-old man from Strathclair, and the 20-year-old man, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries. The man from the RM of Yellowhead succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
