Five people were injured, including two in critical condition, following a head-on collision south of Sanford Friday night.

Headingley RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 3 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Investigators say a northbound vehicle swerved across the road before striking an oncoming southbound vehicle head-on.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 52-year-old man, was treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries. His two 14-year-old daughters, who were passengers, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remain in hospital.
