Listeners used to listening to 92.9 KICK FM on weekdays won’t have to tune out completely now that Marty Gold is off the air.
The Red River College student-run station is tweaking its programming schedule to fill the void between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Fellow show “The Mop” (Musings on Politics) will be moved to a new time at the request of station manager Rick Baverstock.
The show will also be filling in for other empty time slots as programming is reviewed by the Board of Directors.
On its website, KICK FM said in a blog post that the cancellation of “The Great Canadian Talk Show” was a move to “re-focus on the station’s role as an instructural resource.”
Opening up the schedule is said to allow students more opportunity to hone their craft on the airwaves during primetime hours.
