Habitat for Humanity Cyclists Wrapping Up Journey

July 13, 2012 8:24 AM | News

Thirty-six cyclists will wheel to the site of their Habitat for Humanity-sponsored home on Saturday.

Together with the 2012 Cycle of Hope cyclists and road crew, Habitat for Humanity Manitoba will throw an uplifting welcome home ceremony at the entrance to the Riverbend suburb near Main Street and Fernbank Avenue. The site will be the future home of a deserving local family.

The cyclists have been on a 14-day, 1,600-kilometre journey, which began in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Their 2012 ride will raise more than the required $150,000 needed to build a very special, fully accessible and affordable Habitat home to be purchased by new homeowners Norberto and Joseann and their three children.

The ceremony is set for 12 p.m.
