Two people are dead following a two-vehicle crash just east of Libau.
Manitoba RCMP say at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday a Buick Allure travelling eastbound on Highway 317 collided head-on with a westbound Buick Century.
The man driving the Allure was pronounced deceased at the scene, while his female passenger was transported to hospital with serious, undetermined injuries.
The woman driving the Century was also pronounced dead at the scene.
No names have been released and police continue to investigate.
Libau is about 60 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
UPDATE: Sunday, July 21 — The deceased driver of the Buick Allure has been identified as an 87-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews. His passenger, a 91-year-old woman, also from the RM of St. Andrews, died in hospital overnight.
The deceased driver of the Buick Century has been identified as a 69-year-old woman from Lac du Bonnet.
No names will be released.
