One person was taken into custody after a report of a gun at Polo Park Shopping Centre on Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the mall just before 12:30 p.m. to the report of possibly two people being armed. However, both incidents would soon be determined to be unrelated.

Police say one man had been making hand and body gestures towards shoppers imitating holding and shooting a gun.

Clinton Peter Osborne, 26, of Winnipeg was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance and failing to comply with a probation order.

The second incident saw a 41-year-old man in possession of an airsoft gun inside a backpack. A witness spotted the gun and called police. The man was cautioned and released without charge.

The mall was not placed into lockdown as a result of the incidents.
