A number of off-duty Winnipeg police officers will lend a hand this weekend at the David Foster Foundation’s Miracle Gala & Concert.

The Winnipeg Police Association says the volunteer officers will help drive and escort celebrities and VIPs safely around Winnipeg.

“Children’s charities are a priority for WPA fundraising and volunteer activities and the David Foster Foundation is all about assisting families with children undergoing life-saving organ transplant surgery,” said WPA president Maurice Sabourin.

Celebrities attending include Carly Rae Jepsen, Grammy Award-winners Seal and Michael Bolton, The Tenors, Jackie Evancho, and Sinbad.

Tickets to Saturday’s concert at MTS Centre start at $49 through Ticketmaster. Medium tier seating ranges from $79 to $119. The best seats in the house will run you $149.

The gala evening is a fundraiser for families with children in need of major organ transplants.
