Students from the River East Transcona School Division are preparing to perform with musicians from the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

More than 550 students will perform alongside the WSO on Tuesday, November 8 during a pre-concert performance in the lobby of the Centennial Concert Hall.

Directed by Jeff Kula and led by WSO resident conductor Julian Pellicano, the River East Collegiate Jazz Orchestra will play on the Piano Nobile.

The program features a variety of works from composers such as Grieg, Strauss, Mikhail Glinka, and an arrangement of Aerosmith’s Dream On.

The concert concludes with a 370-piece mass band and WSO finale, playing music from John Williams’ “Star Wars Epic: Part Two.”

Tickets are available for $15 at the WSO box office at (204) 949-3999 and at WSO.ca. Showtime is 7 p.m.
