Winnipeg police say a physical dispute between a man and his two sisters led to one of the women being stabbed twice in the upper body.
Officers were called Monday night to a residential complex in the 100 block of Tuxedo Avenue where they found the injured victim. The woman, in her 30s, was listed in critical condition and remains in hospital.
Police say the man returned to the complex about 15 minutes later and officers arrested him.
During the altercation, the other sister tried to intervene and was pushed away, suffering an injury to her hand.
Ryan Sinclair of Winnipeg, 20, has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.
He remains in custody.
