A 64-year-old man from the RM of St. Clements was killed Sunday when his motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck towing a boat.

Selkirk RCMP responded to Highway 59, at the intersection of Highway 4, at around 1:15 p.m.

Officers found the motorcyclist was travelling northbound on Highway 59 and made a left-hand turn to head westbound onto Highway 4. As the motorcycle attempted to cross the southbound lane of Highway 59, it was struck by the pickup.

The driver of the truck, a 74-year-old man from Grande Pointe, wasn’t injured in the collision.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
