Winnipeg police have charged a second man in connection to a fatal crash involving a cyclist earlier this summer.

Rob Jenner died on June 6 after being struck by a vehicle on Wellington Crescent while riding his bike to work. The crash happened at around 7 a.m. near Cockburn Street North. The 61-year-old was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle took off from the scene but was later arrested by police. Beckham Keneth Severight, 19, has previously been charged in the incident.

Winnipeg police have now charged an 18-year-old man with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing recklessness or death.

He was released from custody pending a court appearance.
