A three-day retail theft suppression project in Transcona and St. Boniface led to 20 arrests, Winnipeg police say.
Between August 21 and 23, 2025, officers targeted shoplifting in the two communities.
On August 21, four people were arrested in Transcona for offences including robbery, theft under $5,000, and possession of break-in instruments. All were held in custody.
The next evening, police made nine more arrests in Transcona for robbery, theft, and outstanding warrants. Four were kept in custody, two were released on undertakings, and three were referred to restorative justice.
On August 23, police shifted to St. Boniface, where seven people were arrested for theft and weapon possession. One was detained, two were released on undertakings, and four were diverted through restorative justice.
