Manitoba’s Emergency Management Organization says the National Public Alerting System will issue a test alert on Wednesday at 1:55 p.m.

The test will go out on TV, radio and compatible mobile phones. Officials note that some people may not receive the alert on their wireless devices due to factors such as device compatibility, LTE connection, software, settings or cell-tower coverage.

The province says regular testing helps ensure the Alert Ready system works properly in real emergencies and familiarizes the public with how alerts look and sound on different devices.

Additional information about the Alert Ready system can be found on its website.
