Winnipeg police have charged a man in connection with a string of thefts from local retail stores in August that totalled nearly $2,800.
The incidents occurred between August 6 and 28, 2025, at stores on Regent Avenue, Leila Avenue, Kenaston Boulevard, and Portage Avenue. Police say the suspect was already under court orders not to attend those businesses.
On September 25, investigators arrested 34-year-old Joshua Michael McPherson at a William Whyte area residence. He faces five counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was also wanted on multiple outstanding warrants, including theft, probation breaches, release order violations, and identity theft.
McPherson remains in custody.
